Educational Programs

We offer a variety of interactive school workshops tailored to students' needs, considering their academic level and French language proficiency, whether in a Francophone school or French immersion. Each workshop is personalized to provide an enriching experience, whether it involves songwriting, discovering the history of Francophone communities, or exploring the culture and importance of the French language in Canada. Students can also participate in concerts under the guidance of mentor musicians, immerse themselves in an authentic kitchen party during a jam session open to all experience levels, or discover and play traditional Newfoundland and French-Canadian folk instruments. Through this flexible and immersive approach, each workshop is designed to actively engage students and strengthen their connection to Francophone culture.

School Concerts

Our school concerts offer a lively and interactive experience tailored to the grade level and linguistic context of Francophone and French immersion schools. These concerts combine education and entertainment by highlighting the region's musical heritage and historical stories through original and traditional songs. They allow students to discover compositions inspired by local Francophone history, explore the sound archives of Francophone Newfoundland singers, and enjoy French translations of traditional anglophone songs. By incorporating participatory and interactive songs, the concerts encourage student collaboration and engagement.

Educational Objectives

Our school workshops aim to raise students' awareness of the Francophonie of Newfoundland and Labrador through traditional music. They allow them to discover the Francophone historical and cultural heritage, identify French and French-Canadian influences in local music, and recognize the traditional instruments used. Finally, these workshops encourage active student participation through singing and musical games, thus fostering musical expression and group cooperation.
